As a progressive project following my series Untitled, Untitled 02 pushes the boundaries of photography beyond the human eye, and beyond the power of a macro lens. These photographs, taken of samples of the human body, present the viewer with abstract forms of something so deeply familiar – now unfamiliar.
This book displaces real words spoken from viewers reacting to seeing these images for the first time, alongside the microscopic photographs. As it is human nature to apply meaning to an image or identify that which cannot be identified, this playful juxtaposition creates a poetic irony. This work investigates the interaction between image and audience and the subconscious dialogue that is shared.
Selected images from this work were featured in Massive Magazine, published July 2015.
